Banaganapalle takes its name from the town where it was first cultivated, located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This variety alone occupies over 70% of the total mango cultivable area of the state. Significantly larger than its Alphonso counterpart, it remains one of the most dominant and distinctive mango varieties in the region for its taste and texture.
